What We Do

Washington State Association of Youth Courts (WSAYC) provides support and leadership development for the youth courts of Washington State.

The purposes of WSAYC are:

A.    To encourage the development and expansion of youth courts and state
associations of youth courts;

B.     To provide a forum for training of youth and adult volunteers, the
sharing of ideas, best practices and resources for the operation of youth
courts;

C.     To provide support for local education, prevention, and intervention
services to the youth;

D.    To share information on grants and other funding streams; assisting
courts in grant applications;

E.     To become a pass-through agency for funds received from governmental
agencies or private sector grantees;

F.      To enhance connections and relationships with government agencies
and community-based programs or organizations;

G.    To educate public and private agencies, businesses and individuals on
the benefits of youth courts; and

H.    To perform any purpose and exercise all rights and powers conferred
by the laws of the State of Washington upon nonprofit corporations
organized for charitable and educational purposes, including, but without
limitation, to receive gifts, bequests and contributions, in any form, to
collect dues, and to use, apply, invest and reinvest the principal and/or
income therefrom or distribute the same for the above purposes.
